What makes you work for a living? Most people will say that they work hard for the money in order to fulfill their basic needs.
Although it’s a reality, you shouldn’t let money control you.
Otherwise, you’ll end up unhappy and stuck in some work you hate but is forced to do it because you have to.
Although money allows for dreams to come true, it does not necessarily equate to happiness. It can make some people completely miserable especially if you allow yourself to be a slave to it.
The difference between the rich and not so rich is that the rich earn interest and an average income person pays the interest. We should realize that money is mainly the tool that can let you achieve your desires and goals in life.
For those who are unhappy in their current jobs, work for the love of your passion and not for the money. Here are the 4 reasons why:
- Stops you from stagnating – You are in your comfort zone, regularly receiving your paycheck but you are not happy. This hampers your personal growth and gives you fewer chances to develop your skills to make money outside of your job.
- Prevents you from being a slave to money – You spend your life trying to make both ends meet. If you value money more than your passion or your health, you will live a miserable and unfulfilled life. Don’t let money control your life.
- Passion creates creativity – When you love what you do, you can be more inclined to come up with bright and creative ideas that could eventually give you the breaks to success and more earnings.
- Keeps you out of the vicious debt spiral — You may end up being trapped in a job you dislike just to pay off your debts namely, house loans, car loans, educational loans, utility bills, etc Your paycheck just slips through your fingers and you anticipate receiving your next pay. On the other hand, doing something you enjoy and love motivates you to earn more and therefore be more in control of your finances and your life.
The most successful people are those who do what they most enjoy or what’s most meaningful to them.
They don’t “work” – not in the sense of unpleasant toil or strain, waiting for the day to be over. What they do is engage in an activity they find significant or that gives them pleasure. It may be difficult, it may require effort or long hours, but that’s beside the point – because they’re doing what they want to do, not what they think they ought to or have to.
To reach true financial independence, you must start making your money work for you and not you for the money. Observe how wealthy people work and emulate them.
If your goal is to become a business owner, then pursue it. Invest in the stock market or in real estate, do some work that will give you passive income and start earning interests that will pave you to a better life.
Go out of your comfort zone and seek for different opportunities of creating wealth, other than your paycheck.
